Are you looking for a unique but simple way to make extra money? If so, becoming a personal grocery shopper is a great way supplement your income. Many people don’t realize you can get paid to grocery shop for others in your spare time. Personal grocery shopper jobs let you make good money with minimal special skills required.

Hiring someone to do your grocery shopping may seem like a frivolous expense. However, there are several reasons why someone may want to hire out their grocery shopping, including:

  • Lack of time
  • No interest in dealing with crowded stores
  • Those with medical issues making it difficult to shop on their own

While some find grocery shopping enjoyable, most people I know would rather pass and avoid long lines.

Grocery stores have taken a different approach to grocery shopping by offering done-for-you shopping services for customers. For example, at my local Walmart, a team of employees is in charge of the store’s grocery pickup service.

There are even more options that allow people to avoid going to the grocery store. This is great for people looking for a legit way to make extra money on the side. Many personal grocery shopper jobs pay at least $15 per hour, and some pay over $20 per hour.

If you’re looking for a simple side hustle, here are the six best ways to make money as a personal grocery shopper.

Instacart shoppers receive payment weekly. Compensation is either paid per item or at a fixed rate per job. The Instacart Shopper site claims you can make up to $20 per hour in either role. If you work as a full-service shopper, you typically earn more due to tips.
