College football season is near. For football fans, it has been a long eight or so months since they saw their team out on the gridiron. Many people believe you need an expensive cable or satellite subscription to watch your favorite team. That’s not the case.
You can catch all the action for a fraction of the cost, then cancel once the season is over. Here are the ten best choices to stream college football games this fall.
Table of Contents
An Antenna
An over-the-air antenna is the best tool for cord-cutters. It gives you access to free TV, including live sports.
If you want what’s available on your local networks, an antenna will do the trick. You can see games airing on local channels.
Sling TV
Sling TV is the most affordable option to stream college football games. You want to combine the Orange and Blue package to get ESPN, ESPN2, and FS1.
You can get the ACC (ACCN), ESPNU, PAC-12, SEC (SEC+), and Longhorn (LHN) Networks by adding the Sports Extra add-on. Unfortunately, Sling only carries ABC, FOX, and NBC in select markets. You will need to combine it with an antenna if you want all of your locals.
Fubo
Fubo is a sports-centric streaming service. Its base plan includes ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, FS2, ACCN, Big Ten Network (BTN), and SEC+. The package also includes your Bally Sports regional networks.
If you want ESPNU or PAC-12 Networks, you will need the Sports Plus add-on. The service carries all of your local networks.
DIRECTV STREAM
DIRECTV STREAM is a service similar to cable, but it has a lot of great sports options. The base tier includes ESPN, ESPN2, and FS1.
If you want FS2, ACCN, BTN, SEC+, or ESPNU, you will want the next plan up, called Choice. The app also includes all of your local networks.
YouTube TV
YouTube TV is one of the most popular streaming apps. It’s fantastic for college football fans as well. The app has all of the ESPN and Fox Sports networks.
They also offer ACCN, BTN, and SEC+. You even get all local networks, including one of the few that carry the CW.
Vidgo
Vidgo isn’t quite as impressive as YouTube TV or Fubo, but it’s still a fine choice. The service carries all ESPN networks, plus FS1, FS2, ACCN, BTN, LHN, PAC-12, and SEC+.
Unfortunately, it only includes ABC and FOX, and it doesn’t have a cloud DVR.
Hulu With Live TV
Hulu Live offers a lot of value to college football fans. It has the full suite of ESPN channels, FS1, FS2, ACCN, BTN, and SEC+. You also receive all local networks, including the CW.
Furthermore, a subscription includes access to ESPN+. That app has loads of live college football games, especially from smaller conferences.
ESPN Plus
ESPN+ isn’t a replacement for the ESPN live stream. However, the app does carry a significant number of college football games.
The app carries selected Big 12 games, as well as games from smaller conferences such as Conference USA, the Sun Belt, and the Mid-American conference. If you pair the service with an antenna, you can catch a lot of games.
Peacock
Are you a Big Ten fan? Peacock could be all you need to catch the action. The streaming app is going to air 21 select Big Ten games for the 2023 season.
The app also simulcasts all Notre Dame games airing on NBC. All you need is the base plan to stream live games.
Paramount Plus
Are you an SEC fan and don’t want a pricey streaming subscription? Paramount+ could be the choice for you.
You will want to choose the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME plan. It gives you access to your local CBS live stream, which is needed for your local SEC games.
