They offer healthy, portion-controlled meals that are suitable for a variety of dietary needs.

Their meals are also made with organic ingredients, whole grains, and humanely raised meats, so they are higher in quality than most of the frozen or pre-prepared meals at the grocery store.

Additionally, they prioritize protein intake, so they’re a good fit for people who are active. They are even great for people who are trying to lose weight.

All of their meals provide high-quality plant or animal-based lean proteins.

They send fresh, fully-prepared meals to your home each week. The meals only need to be reheated, and they can be microwaved, prepared on a skillet, or cooked in the oven.

You can also freeze the meals to use at a later time.

How Does the Service Work?

To sign up for Trifecta, you’ll first need to pick your meal plan. Trifecta offers several different meal plans in two main categories.

The Convenience category has pre-prepared meals on a “chef’s choice” menu and includes:

• Clean: balanced, healthy meals
• Paleo: dairy-free and grain-free
• Keto: low-carb and ketogenic
• Vegan: strictly plant-based
• Vegetarian: plant-based (may include dairy and eggs)

The Control category offers prepped ingredients that you can assemble into meals yourself and includes:

• Meal Prep: proteins, organic produce, and carbs
• Classic Meals: select your own meals
• Budget Meal Prep Kit: popular meal prep ingredients
• Meat Lovers Meal Prep Kit: only protein sources (meats)

After choosing your plan, you’ll select how many meals you want. You must order a minimum of seven meals, and you can request any combination of five or seven breakfasts, lunches, dinners, or 3rd entrees each week.

Once you choose your meal plan and check out, you’ll be able to choose your meals or meal components only if you selected a Control plan. Convenience plans receive “chef’s choice” meals, so you don’t get a say in meal selection.

However, they have a rotating menu, so there are still several weekly meal options.

Unfortunately, the Trifecta menu isn’t available online. This means that there’s no way to view the full menu before you sign up.

To get an idea of what you might receive, choose the “Classic Meals” option under the Control category, then browse the available meals.

Your Trifecta meals will be delivered on a weekly basis. Since this is a subscription-based service, deliveries will continue until you pause or cancel.

You can pause your account for up to four weeks at a time, but you’ll need to call the customer service line to cancel your Trifecta account.

How Much Does Trifecta Cost?

The per-serving cost of Trifecta meals varies significantly depending on the meal plan and how many meals you choose.

Their prices start at $11.24 per serving for vegetarian meal delivery but can go up to $15.79 per meal for smaller shipments of clean, keto, and paleo meals.

My Experience Using the Service

Overall, I enjoyed my experience with Trifecta meals. I chose the keto plan.

The box arrived very cold and was packed well. All of the food was fresh and looked to be in excellent condition.

The box and packaging were recyclable, and the ice packs were reusable. Some of the individual meal packaging is recyclable as well, so it seems pretty eco-friendly.

We were preparing to go out of town when the box arrived, so I had the Ultimate Keto Bison Burger meal fresh before we left, and it was excellent. I reheated it in a skillet rather than the microwave.

I put the rest of the meals in the freezer.

Some of the meals I tried were reheated in the microwave straight from the freezer, and they were surprisingly tasty.

For example, the Almond Crusted Cod was still flaky and tender despite being reheated in the microwave after freezing it. My one year old was a big fan, too.

I was also impressed with the Cheesy Bacon Chicken.

I loved the flavors of the Beef Stroganoff, but I wasn’t a big fan of the texture of the beef. It was on the tough side.

The Mediterranean Salmon was delicious. Like the cod, it was perfectly flaky right out of the microwave.

Additionally, I’m not a big fan of olives. Several of the meals had olives in them, but it wasn’t a huge deal for me to just pick them out.

Nevertheless, this is one drawback of not being able to choose your own meals on the Convenience plans.

Fortunately, they offer the Classic Meals option (part of the Control category) that allows you to choose your own meals if this is something that’s important to you.

I also found that the portion sizes were perfect for a quick meal. They’d likely be a great fit for anyone looking for a healthy lunch to take to work or for some easy, healthy meals to keep in the freezer for busy days.

How Easy Are Trifecta Meal Kits to Prepare?

Trifecta offers easy-to-prepare meal kits. All you have to do is reheat them, no prep or recipe card required.

The packaging is microwavable, but they provide directions stating that the food may taste better if reheated in an air fryer, skillet, or oven.

If you reheat it in the oven, you’ll need to transfer it to an oven-safe dish.

Note that I vented the packages by slicing open the top lining with a knife. When I forgot to vent one of the frozen ones, the plastic lining ended up bursting.

If you choose a plan that contains prepped ingredients rather than full meals, you’ll just need to assemble the meals and reheat them. All of the meal prep ingredients are fully cooked as well.

Cooking for One or Two People

If you live alone or in a small household of two, Trifecta might be a perfect solution for quick, convenient meals or work lunches.

You can receive up to 21 entrees each week (breakfast meals aren’t considered entrees).

Additionally, their meals all feature lean protein and pesticide-free produce. They also provide several different meal plans for people on special diets.

People Who Follow Specialty Diets

In addition to being completely gluten-free, Trifecta Nutrition offers several specific meal plans catering to certain dietary needs and dietary restrictions.

They have keto, paleo, vegan, and vegetarian meal plans in addition to their standard plan. Few other services provide meal choices that are designed specifically for these dietary needs.

Who Shouldn’t Use the Service?

On the other hand, Trifecta may not be the best fit for people who fall into these categories.

People Who Want Variety

You may find your Trifecta meals to have a great deal of repetition, which can be difficult for people who want a lot of variety in their meals.

I found that many of the keto meals were a bit formulaic despite having different flavors. They included roasted meat and a side of diced vegetables.

Picky Eaters

Choosy eaters may not like Trifecta meals. If you’re a picky eater and you tend to stick to the same types of foods, you may find that Trifecta’s menu options don’t offer the types of foods that you like.

Unfortunately, Trifecta doesn’t share their menu on their website, so you can’t check out what you’ll be receiving before you place your order.

Can You Lose Weight on Trifecta?

It’s possible to lose weight using Trifecta Nutrition meals. In fact, they can be a helpful tool since the portion sizes are controlled, the meals are designed to be healthy, and all of the nutrition information is printed on the package.

Subscribing to Trifecta gives you access to the TrifectaME program, which provides a fitness app for tracking food and workouts, recipes, free health coaching, and entrance into the Trifecta online community.

However, weight loss is no guarantee when using the Trifecta service. It depends on the rest of your diet and lifestyle habits.
