More than money
While Chonce has loved writing since before she wrote articles on a volunteer basis for the College News’ quarterly magazine issues, she believes managing your money well is about more than finance.
Chonce believes personal finance can be a portal into transforming who you are as a person and finding your purpose in life.
Her zeal for Gen Z and Millennials leads her to help recent college grads, hopeful entrepreneurs and other young people move forward with greater opportunities and fewer limits through proper money management.
Her debt epiphany
After graduating from Northern Illinois University with a journalism and communications degree, Chonce successfully built her blog, mydebtepiphany.
She grew it from the ground up into a place where people can experience debt breakthroughs. She teaches people there how to seize better financial futures for themselves and their families.
As a personal finance coach, she leverages her own financial past as a single mom who found a way to make a budget of $1,000 a month stretch to meet her needs to help others move forward from similar situations.
In addition to successfully paying off $14,000 in debt in one year, and more than $50,000 of debt in total, Chonce planned her wedding for less than $10,000.
She invites readers to join her on a journey of balancing money with living today and planning for tomorrow.
And when she’s not inspiring others, she enjoys cooking, finding new Netflix shows to binge, and spending time outside with her husband, son, and pets.
