You need to have at least a 40 hour TEFL certificate from an accredited source. It should be a general certificate rather than a skills specific version e.g. a TEFL in grammar. Remember, you can submit your application without a TEFL as long as you complete it before you start teaching. During your video call, our team will be happy to advise you on suitable courses.

No, no. As the online lesson is part of a blended learning experience it is important the online activities complement what each child has covered in their in-person class. To make this seamless our Academic Team creates all teaching materials for both in-person classes and online lessons.

Materials are uploaded to the online platform in advance of your lesson. This means you don’t need to spend hours outside of class planning lessons or preparing activities.

Not at all! Lessons are given in English. At the end of each lesson you’ll complete a short feedback form in English for the parents to read.

Teaching online is an independent contractor position. Most contracts are offered for a six-month term with options for auto-renewal for each party. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, as no withholding is taken from payments.

Yes! We understand that when face-to-face with a student for the first time, the last thing you want to be doing is figuring out new technology. You’ll be provided with full system walkthrough which will familiarise you with the online classroom. Plus, our support team is there to answer any questions you may have.

Teachers fill out a teacher profile on the platform. It is a vital part to getting booked by parents. Parents use the information on the teacher profile to determine whether the instructor is a good fit for their child.

Parents prefer to have the same teacher instruct their child for the duration of a five-month course. Teachers who open long-term recurring availability in the same time slots each week will get the most bookings and teach the same students for multiple weeks.

Instructors can also open special availability outside of their typical, recurring schedule and get booked for one-off lessons, or claim lessons that other instructors subbed out.

Teachers are matched with students based on the information provided on their teacher profile and the availability they open in the system. Instructors don’t advertise to parents directly.
