Welcome to the inaugural Shout Out Saturday! The real purpose of Shout Out Saturday is to link back to those bloggers that have graciously highlighted my blog posts from the previous week as well as link back to the Carnivals that Frugal Rules was highlighted in. I am always humbled by those that refer their readers on to me and I like to do the same as none of us know everything, so I like to read other peoples’ perspectives.
It has been a fun weekend for us as Mrs. Frugal Rules and I went out for a date night last night to celebrate my birthday. I am also looking forward to the Championship Games this weekend in the NFL. It is a bittersweet time as it means the end of the season is near, but I love the Super Bowl. I am a lifelong Cowboys fan ( I know, they’re terrible lately), but that means I can’t stand the 49ers, and I am no fan of Tom Brady, so I guess you could say I am rooting for a Falcons/Ravens Super Bowl. It’s too bad the Seahawks lost last Sunday, that was quite the way to end the game. Anyway, that is enough talk about football. Let’s move on to the shout outs Frugal Rules received last week.

Happy Belated Birthday Mate! I hope you and the Mrs. had a lovely time last night. Enjoy your Saturday… I bet it feels better to split them up. Cheers Mr.CBB

Thanks Mr. CBB, it’s Monday actually. We’re just celebrating it this weekend. It does make it easier to split it up and really is not much in terms of extra work.
Oh I almost forgot that Superbowl is coming. I wish their was a 30 minute show of just commercials. I feel like I waste a lot of my time waiting for the game to break and the REAL show comes on

haha I agree, I love the commercials too.

For as much as they spend on them, they should be good.
The commercials, generally, are good but I enjoy it much more for the football. It’s my favorite day of the year…just behind Thanksgiving.
Thanks for the shout out John, hope you have a great weekend!

No problems sir. You have a good one as well!
Happy Birthday John! And thanks for the shout out – appreciated.

Thanks Dustin, no problem!
I’ve gotta go Falcons/Ravens as well. Patriot fans are annoying and San Fran is too far away from me to be likable. And with the Panthers dominating the Falcons this year, using the transitive property, it means the Panthers are Superbowl worthy.
Happy Belated Birthday- Hope it was fun.

I like your reasoning.
Oh, how I loathe the Patriots…I am hoping for a three sack outing for Ray Lewis.
Thanks for the shout out John. I appreciate it. I also like the format. I am rooting for the Ravens because I like R Lewis and think he deserves to go out on top. I am not a fan of the patriots. Never have been and never will be. Have a great weekend!

No problem Grayson. Thanks, it just became too diluted the way I had it but still want to recognize those to mention me. I am not a huge Ray Lewis fan, BUT I can’t stand Brady or the Patriots. I am personally hoping Lewis has 3 or 4 sacks, that’d make me very happy.
Thanks for mentioning the Festival that is oh so Frugal

No problem Lance!
Happy Birthday and thanks for the shout out! I’m not a football fan so I only follow what is happening through facebook feeds.
I usually do watch the superbowl though because the last couple of years have been exciting games. I use the power of the dvr to skip though the boring parts and catch the commercials as well.

Thanks Tonya! There have been some exciting games the last few years, yet I love football so pretty much any football game is exciting for me.
Gotta love the dvr!
You can’t stand the 49ers??????? I thought we were friends John!
LOL. But I do share your loathing of the Patriots. Ugh…Tom Brady is annoying.
Thanks for the mention and have a great birthday weekend. All birthdays should be celebrated over the course of 3 days!
Mackenzie recently posted..Link Love: Hockey is Back Edition!
I know. Sorry Mackenzie! I hope this means we can still be friends.
It actually stems from me being a lifelong Cowboys fan…the 49ers always seemed to crush my Cowboys dreams at the end of the season growing up. I am actually a Harbaugh fan, though I don’t know what he was thinking in benching Alex Smith. Yes, I do loathe the Patriots and their pretty boy QB Brady.
Thanks for the birthday wishes! My Mom says it should be celebrated for the entire month, that’s just a BIT too much if you ask me.
Happy birthday John! I hope you had a lovely time.

Thanks for the mention! I’m also rooting for a Ravens vs Falcons game. I’m actually watching the Falcons game right now and they’re up 24-14 at the half.

I don’t care who wins, I just watch for the commercials and so I have a good excuse to eat nachos and drink beer. Bf is watching the Pats as I type this, blah.
