Welcome to another edition of Shout Out Saturday here at Frugal Rules. I know I mentioned this yesterday, but I can’t believe that it’s March already. What’s even crazier is that spring is less than three weeks away! While I don’t like spring because it means the summer is right around the corner and I hate heat, I do enjoy spring for other reasons. Springtime means that we can start doing more things outside as well as starting back to gardening. It also means that we start thinking a little more seriously about a family vacation during the summer and planning it if need be. This year my youngest brother is graduating from college, so we may be going out to Montana to see him walk across the stage. We also have FinCon13 for the bloggers reading this. I think we may be going to the conference this year, but have not decided yet as we want to get someone to watch the kids so we can enjoy more of the conference.
It was another great week for Frugal Rules in the blogosphere. I do sincerely thank other fellow bloggers who gave me a shout out or who included me in their Blog Carnival. If there are any new ones to you, I encourage you to stop by their blog and check them out. Have a great weekend everyone!

I wish I could go to FinCon, but it’s not in the budget
Flying from California to anywhere, is expensive; I think they must tack on some sort of “west coast” fee
Enjoy your Saturday!

We were honestly hoping it was going to be in California. That way we could of combined it with seeing the in-laws. You have a great weekend as well Mackenzie!
I hope to make it to FinCon this fall
I asked my boss and he said he didn’t see any problems w/ it so I’m buying a ticket

That’s cool! We just got arrangements for our little hooligans finalized the other day so it looks like we’ll be going as well.
I’m going to FinCon! I live in the St. Louis area so it’ll be a lot of fun

I bet you would be.
We just finalized arrangements for the kids a few days ago, so we’ll be driving in for it.
I just got very nervous reading about Fincon! As much as I love this stuff, I feel like I don’t belong…
Maybe I will get the guts to go, HA! Have a great weekend, John!

You’d totally belong Tony! Plus, you get the benefit of putting faces to some of the people you’ve been “meeting” on the web. From what I have read, it’s going to be pretty cool. You have a great weekend as well!
Thanks for the mention and I can’t believe it’s already March too! Man do the years just fly by the older I get!

Not a problem! I can’t either, though I am happy to get days that have light past 5:00 p.m. You think time flies by now, just wait til you get older.
I remember when I watched my wife graduate from college, I ended up with a sunburn on my nearly bald scalp. Have a fun weekend. I hope you have a chance to relax a bit.

I’ve had the same thing happen myself too many times to counts as I usually keep my hair really short. You have a great weekend as well Justin!
FinCon sounds like a whole lot of fun from what I’ve heard. Maybe one of these years I’ll go and meet everyone there. So what did your bro major in?
Liquid recently posted..Fiscal Update – Feb 2013 – US Stocks
I’ve heard the same thing and thankfully I can get there this year by driving. He majored in Secondary Education. He wants to be a teacher…scary.
Pretty cool. Big responsibility though because the future of our well being depends on the education of the next generation. He has to make sure they can create jobs, pay taxes and fund our retirements
No pressure.

I plan on going to fincon too but I’m really nervous about it. I fear it being really cliquy for some reason and I don’t do well with that, but you can’t do something just because you’re afraid right? Luckily I still have a lot of southwest points, so at least the ticket should be free. Have a great weekend!

I can understand that Tonya, it probably will be to some extent but I am just trying to go and have fun and meet some of the people in person so I can know them beyond just my computer. That’s cool you’ll get a free ticket to go, we’re driving as it’s only about 5-6 hours by car.
Tonya, I’m afraid for the same reasons, I can do one-on-ones or even groups by we need to be all on similar footing. It does sound like a great time though and I think if you start with a beer you’ll be plenty lose to network like crazy
