My favorite thing about fall is college football. While I could watch the Blessed Sisters of the Blind scrimmage, there’s a special place in my heart for FBS college football. Say what you will about it, but the first BCS Poll is coming out this weekend which means the college football season is heating up. I am eagerly anticipating where my Alma Mater – Kansas State University falls in the Top 10 and hope they can move their way up throughout the season.
You might notice that I’ve made some small changes to my weekly roundup. I’ll be doing a more exhaustive list at the end of the month and doing a shorter one from week to week. Following are my favorite ten blog posts of the week, in no particular order. If you have the time, then I encourage you to take a look at a few of them. Have a great weekend everyone!

Very cool to have your alma mater potentially in the top 10! I love college football but my Gophers have made it quite painful the past 4 years or so. The loss to Iowa was downright depressing.
Also I am trying to standardize my mentions at the end of the week as well. It’s so hard to narrow down the list! I need to start integrating a list of mentions, because those are 1:1 and I think they are important to do.
Thanks for the mention! And the top spot too!

Yea, this week and next will be a challenge with us on the road against Iowa St & then West Virginia.
I am wanting to do the same thing with mentions to. It can be hard to cut down on the mentions, but I think doing so individually within posts are good too. I think there’s a balance to be had and not going to one extreme or the other.
I am right there with you. Nothing is more exciting than college football. I’m an Iowa Hawkeye so the last couple years have been depressing but I still love it. Thanks for the mention.
It’s interesting living in Nebraska and hearing the NU fans with their hatred towards Iowa. I find it a bit amusing as I think most Nebraska fans feel like they’re better than everyone else and are also still stuck in their powerhouse past.
Man I love football! Great idea for a roundup edition!

TB at BlueCollarWorkman recently posted..Are Fake Shutters Worth The Money?
As do I TB. I think I could watch pretty much any level of football and get enjoyment out of it.
Thanks for the mention. I hope you have a great weekend!

Not a problem Holly. You have a good weekend as well!
Hi John, I think its great to see the KSU in the top 10. If Wisconsin can’t be there, than I’m happy to see KSU fight for the national championship.
As always, thanks for the mention… always enjoy visiting your blog.
Jason Clayton | frugal habits recently posted..Do You Use the Electronic Envelope System?
I feel similar towards Wisconsin as Bret Bielema is a K-State guy. No problem Jason, the feeling is mutual towards yours as well.
Can’t say I get excited over Football but I do get excited over Football (soccer) and Rugby and I do love my surfing. I haven’t taken the time to try and understand American Football, maybe one day but for now I’m working on Hockey with my mates. Cheers Mr.CBB

You know, when I was looking for a picture for this post I was finding many more soccer pitures than American football pictures. I played soccer for years as a kid, I loved it. You surf Mr. CBB? My wife grew up surfing and loved it. But, being as that we’re land locked now she does not get to do much of it.
Hi John, sorry I can’t relate to football much, but I am excited that you included my post in your Friday roundup! I hope you have a nice relaxing weekend and enjoy whatever it is you plan on doing (watching Football?)

No problem. I hope you have a great weekend as well. Yes, we’ll be watching some football and probably taking the kids out to get pumpkins.
Kentucky disappoints in football, but basketball is just around the corner, defending national champs and all. Thanks for the mention.

That it is Kim. I’ll be interested to see how well they do this year with the freshman leaving, but then again it IS Kentucky. Have a great weekend!
Thanks so much!!

opps, didn’t mean to send prematurely…isn’t collage football an organized religion in the states?
Hubby watches NFL but (being from Canada and all…) we’re crazy about hockey (even though he follows CBJ, don’t ask), soccer and rugby. Happy weekend!

It can be depending on what area of the country you live in. So, how’re you dealing with the NHL being locked out? Have a great weekend as well.

Man, that’s a lot of mentions you had…great job! Congrats on KSU whipping my KU boys. I’m headed to the KU game tomorrow to watch another blood bath.
ROCK CHALK!

Thanks Jason. I was pretty humbled to make up the list and to see all the mentions I got.
In regards to the game…we got lucky. KU threw ALL they had at us and K-State was just not focused. Which is one of the very reasons why I am nervous about our game tomorrow in Ames. Have fun at the game. Go State!!
I love college football too and I am a Canadian. The passion they have is so intense. You can’ t help but love watching watching them play.
Congrats on all of the carnivals. That is awesome.

I feel the same way Miss T. Thanks as well, I felt pretty honored after looking at the list.
I wish I was more into football. It seems everyone around me is right now, and I feel left out.
Oh well, I can’t force myself into liking something. Hope your team does well!
