It’s hard to believe that December starts tomorrow! It seems like just yesterday it was summer and now we’re less than a month away from Christmas. It’s been a tough week at the Frugal Rules house as a close friend of my wife’s lost her 15 month old daughter on the day after Thanksgiving. It brought back feelings of our dear son Isaac, but really I can’t imagine the pain as it was completely unexpected and they had a year with their daughter. It’s another lesson that life is so precious and we have to live it to its fullest.
We did get our first dusting of snow on Monday, which the kids just loved. They still as of yet have not grasped that a dusting will not allow you to build a snowman, but it’s still so fun to watch them get excited over something so simple. Make sure to come back on Monday as I am participating in my first Giveaway, which is exciting.
With it being month end, I’ve added in a few extra posts as it’s always so hard to narrow down from all of the blog posts I read on a daily basis. If you have the time this weekend, then I encourage you to read some of these posts. Have a great weekend everyone!

How sad, poor little girl! At any age it is so unnatural for parents to lose a child. I hope they can find acceptance and peace. Thank you for the mention, enjoy the snow!

Yay for the first dusting of snow. We’re huddled up here as well. Snow flurries in the forecast. I am so sorry to hear about your wife’s friends. So absolutely tragic. Every moment certainly is precious, and a special gift.

Hey John,
Happy here comes the snow.. well at least here it is banging it down right now. There was nothing but green grass this morning lol. Thanks for the mention. You’re right that life is too short and can be taken away in an instant. I have a cousin that was just dianosed with stage 4 hodgkins lymphoma at age 26 and has to go through all the chemo and treatments for that. You really never know what’s going to happen next in life, so we need to make the most of what we have.
Justin @ The Family Finances recently posted..Friends of the Family: Holiday Party Edition
No problem Justin. Sorry to hear that. We have a close friend who was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer about 18 months ago. She’s our age and has three little ones as well and it has been a very difficult trial (to put it lightly) to say the least.
