Frugal Friday: Posts That Ruled This Week, It’s December Already Edition!

Blog Posts

It’s hard to believe that December starts tomorrow! It seems like just yesterday it was summer and now we’re less than a month away from Christmas. It’s been a tough week at the Frugal Rules house as a close friend of my wife’s lost her 15 month old daughter on the day after Thanksgiving. It brought back feelings of our dear son Isaac, but really I can’t imagine the pain as it was completely unexpected and they had a year with their daughter. It’s another lesson that life is so precious and we have to live it to its fullest.

We did get our first dusting of snow on Monday, which the kids just loved. They still as of yet have not grasped that a dusting will not allow you to build a snowman, but it’s still so fun to watch them get excited over something so simple. Make sure to come back on Monday as I am participating in my first Giveaway, which is exciting.

With it being month end, I’ve added in a few extra posts as it’s always so hard to narrow down from all of the blog posts I read on a daily basis. If you have the time this weekend, then I encourage you to read some of these posts. Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. Wow, I cannot imagine losing my daughter ever, let alone at 15months, that is terrible. So sorry for the loss. UGH. You’ve had your fair share of crap hands dealt to you that’s for sure.

Thanks so much for including me! Glad you enjoyed it!

    • I know Grayson, it brought many feelings back to the surface for us. You have a great weekend as well. Yes, I think we’re part of the same giveaway.

    • They were Sicorra. It’s been a very sad time for them to say the least. Now they’re calling for 60 degree weather here over the weekend, it’s just crazy weather.

    • I know. It was nice while it lasted, today it’s 60. Yes it has been very tragic and they have no idea why she passed, it has brought many feelings to the surface for us but thankfully we can focus on loving them through this. You have a great weekend as well Jennifer!

  2. Snow… envy! Glad to hear the kids are having fun – I remember the days of playing in snow – those blissful moments last a lifetime. Thanks for inclusion in your round up! Hope you have a great weekend.

  3. Hey John,
Happy here comes the snow.. well at least here it is banging it down right now. There was nothing but green grass this morning lol. That’s a fine long list you have mate.. and I thought I struggled to pick the best posts. It can get tough though I hear ya. I read about 100 blogs a week but I do learn something from everyone! Cheers and thanks for the mention mate. Mr.CBB

    • We had snow on Monday and now they’re calling for 60 tomorrow….crazy weather. I know it can be difficult to narrow down the list, but you just have to. I come close to your 100, and it does become difficult to choose. No problem on the mention!

    • Thanks Rohit. I wouldn’t say that it’s full time exactly. My wife and I run our own business, so it sort of gets lumped in with everything else.

  4. Thanks for the mention. You’re right that life is too short and can be taken away in an instant. I have a cousin that was just dianosed with stage 4 hodgkins lymphoma at age 26 and has to go through all the chemo and treatments for that. You really never know what’s going to happen next in life, so we need to make the most of what we have.

    • No problem Justin. Sorry to hear that. We have a close friend who was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer about 18 months ago. She’s our age and has three little ones as well and it has been a very difficult trial (to put it lightly) to say the least.
