This month seems to be hurtling us right at Christmas with no foreseeable end in sight. Thankfully the potty training bootcamp is going quite well and we’re seeing some great progress with it. I am looking forward to the day that we won’t be spending a boatload of money each month on diapers and use that money on other things. I am looking forward to tomorrow as my wife and I will be having a date day as some good friends are taking the little munchkins for the day. I think we’re going to be seeing the Hobbit as my wife is a huge Tolkien fan. I am not a big Tolkien fan, but the movie does look pretty interesting.
If you’ve not taken the time to sign up for the iPad 3 giveaway then I encourage you to do so as you still have time. Talk of the giveaway has increased requests from my better half that we should get an iPad. I am determined to stand strong, but we learned yesterday that with our business it would be tax deductible so I think I may be on the losing end of this arrangement.
Speaking of our business…a number of you have asked what type of business we run. Well, wait no further as I will be sharing that in detail starting on Monday. It’ll be part of an overall series on things to do when you run your own business that I’ll be sharing over the next few weeks and months. Oh, I’ll also be co-hosting another giveaway on Monday. It’s not quite as good as the iPad 3 giveaway, but free cash is always a good deal.
It’s been another great week in the blogosphere and I’ve highlighted some of my favorite blog posts. If you have some time this weekend, then I encourage you to read some of the selected blog posts. Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks for including me John. I think that the Hobbit is better than the LoTR. It’s a much deeper story, I’m just surprised they made it into three movies. It’s just one book and is smaller than any of the other Tolkien books.
Have a great weekend and enjoy your date.
Justin@TheFrugalPath recently posted..Friday’s Fork in the Path: Eleven Days Until Christmas
No problem Justin. My wife was just saying the same thing this morning. She thinks it’s a cash grab by Jackson as the story is not as long as the LoTR.
They STILL haven’t potty trained you? Great list of stories. Thanks for the reads.
AverageJoe recently posted..Average Joe’s Friday Sing Along
Nope, sadly not Joe. I am actually seeking help for it.
Have a good one!
Ha your search terms are interesting! Have a great weekend.
Michelle recently posted..Maintaining a Minimalist Wardrobe
You as well Michelle.
Haha People are really different. Thanks for the mention and being different….enjoy your weekend.
Christopher @ This that and the MBA recently posted..Manage Debt Before It Manages You
No problem Christopher! You have a good one as well.
I’m looking forward to seeing The Hobbit as well but probably won’t this weekend as I have to catch up on holiday preparations.
Can’t wait to learn about your business next week.
Kay Lynn recently posted..Much Ado About Twinkies
I sort of wish I was not seeing it this weekend.
I am really looking forward to your post about your small business! Are you posting it on Monday and the giveaway on Tuesday? Or vice versa? Or TWO posts on Monday? As a blogger I am always thinking about these scheduling conflicts
Anyway I’m excited. I really do think one day down the road I will be working my own small business full-time, or two “part-time” small businesses, if that makes sense.
In all honesty I wouldn’t keep the ipad3 if I won it. I’d sell it to help put more money towards our house and to help our “Dog emergency fund.” I’m not a big Apple fan, though, so that’s the main contributor to my selling it. I know plenty of people who would love it, though! I would love the Nexus tablet, but I just don’t know when I can justify it.
Anyway hope you have a great weekend and thanks for being a regular visitor to my site. There are a few “core” sites I visit every single day, and I think you are well aware that your site is one of them.
DC @ Young Adult Money recently posted..5 Signs You Need a New Job and 3 Things to do about It
Thanks for the kind words DC, I feel likewise towards your site. I’ll be doing two posts on Monday, the giveaway will just be scheduled for later in the day. I am doing two posts on my business…what we do, why I left my job, etc. The first will be on Monday & the second on Wednesday. After the New Year I’ll be doing other posts related to it dealing with things you want to plan on/look out for when you run your own business.
Interesting that you’d sell the iPad, though I understand it. I am not an Apple fan myself and I also really don’t see the point of a tablet if you already have a laptop and a smartphone. But, logic is not winning the argument with my wife.
I appreciate the inclusion John. I am interested to see what type of business you run, so I will be tuned in next week. I hope you enjoy date day and The Hobbit. I am on the fence due to the film’s length. I don’t do very well with long films.
Grayson @ Debt RoundUp recently posted..Weekly Personal Finance Blog RoundUp – 12/14/2012
No problem Grayson. I know I’ll enjoy the date…not so much The Hobbit. Unless it’s something like Braveheart and Gladiator I am not a big fan of uber long movies.
Thanks for including in the roundup!
Have a great weekend!!
Eddie recently posted..Responsible Holiday Party Hosting
Not a problem Eddie, you have a good one as well!
I look forward to your series starting Monday John about your business etc. Potty training seems to be a huge topic in your house but I’m sure it’s one that will be part of your family for years to come when you can look back and share stories with the kids about things they used to do lol.. Have a good weekend and as always thanks for recognizing CBB!! Cheers mate. Mr.CBB
Canadian Budget Binder recently posted..The Celebrate Like Scrooge Christmas Gift Exchange
It is a pretty big deal right now, but thankful that we’re starting to make some head way with it. I’ve gotten a few “blackmail” pictures, so they better watch it.
Thank you for the mention….and good luck with the potty training. We are going to have to start that all over soon with our youngest =/
Greg@ClubThrifty recently posted..The VIP Club Roundup – 13th Edition
No problem Greg. Thanks, it’s starting to improve so there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Looking forward to Monday. I’ve been curious for some time what your family business is.
Mandy @ MoneyMasterMom recently posted..You’ve just won 1 million dollars! No Thanks…I think
I just hope it lives up to the expectations.
I can’t wait to know what you do. I’ll laugh myself silly if it’s something like mail order costumes or something like that. Thanks for the mention.
Kim@Eyesonthedollar recently posted..Is There Ever a Reason to Blow Your Christmas Budget?
Lol! Nope, no costume making…but, hey, that gives me an idea!
A date day with the wife sounds like a lot of fun! My wife and I have a Christmas party and I’m looking forward to that. It forces us to get out of the house and do something, that’s always a good thing!
I can’t believe next week is basically Christmas. I was certain we had a least a few more weeks but apparently not. I didn’t make that realization until last night…
Jason @ WorkSaveLive recently posted..How Do You View Your Money?
It does, especially with how crazy busy we’ve been over the past few months. I was thinking the same thing last night. It finally dawned on me that my family is coming NEXT Sunday…crazy!
Thanks for shares as always! The Hobbit, I’m excited to see it as well <– huge fan and a nerd. I'm excited for your series about your business, it's the kind of stuff I look forward to reading all the time

Veronica @ Pelican on Money recently posted..LinkLuv Friday Missing Persons Edition
Not a problem Veronica! I am glad you’re excited about The Hobbit…me not so much. But, my wife put up with me getting all geeked out about Dark Knight Rises, so it’s the least I can do.
Looking forward to Monday. As a promoter of small business ownership, I’m curious to know what your family business is.
