Happy Friday everyone! At the end of last week things were starting to look up and we thought that we might get an early spring. Well, that quickly ended as we got nearly another eight inches of snow (as well as freezing rain) dumped on us Sunday night into Monday morning. They’re promising us 50-60 degree weather this weekend, but I’ll believe it when I see it. Hopefully they’re right so we can get outside and get started on things like the garden.
It’s hard to believe it, but we’re at mid-March already which means that St. Patrick’s Day is upon us this weekend! It’s always interesting to see all of the Irish people come out of the woodwork to celebrate the Holiday, though something tells me that it has more to do with the green beer than anything else. Mrs. Frugal Rules is ¼ Irish which, in her mind, means that she IS Irish. We always have fun joking about it, but it reminds me that we want to go back to visit Ireland sometime soon. We visited for our honeymoon and had two wonderful weeks there. It was absolutely beautiful there and we loved it so much that we might even consider moving there once the kids are out on their own.
Ok, enough of my rambling. It was another great week in the blogosphere this week. I’ve listed some of my favorite blog posts from this past week below. Like I said last week I’ve narrowed down this list quite a bit as a means to highlight those blog posts I enjoyed the most and ones that I think will be most beneficial to my readers. Before you leave, make sure to sign up for the $100 Giveaway to celebrate Frugal Rules’ six-month blogiversary. The contest ends next Friday, March 22.

How to Screen 52 Week Lows on Brick By Brick Investing
I absolutely loved Marvin’s post on watching 52 week lows for stock prices. Talk about investing in the stock market has been all the rage lately. Marvin discusses using watch lists to better analyze when to get into a stock. With all the talk of investing going on, make sure your investment decision is based off of research and numbers as opposed to getting in because everyone else is. On a side note, make sure to pop on over to wish him well on the arrival of his and his wife’s newest little addition to their family.

Now that you mention it, I was visiting my aunt/uncle/cousins last St. Patrick’s Day weekend and it was HOT in Des Moines, Iowa. Hard to believe that we literally could get dumped with 6+ inches of snow on Monday morning here…
I like the limited list, definitely more effective. I also will have to remember to add your $100 giveaway to next Friday’s roundup. Hope you have a great weekend!

Yep, the weather is crazy They’re calling for mid 60′s today & tomorrow and then getting more snow Sunday night into Monday. This weather is just nuts.
I like the format you have here John. I decided that when I launch the new site this weekend (hopefully) that I will be doing away with weekly roundups. I plan on integrating links to the great posts into my posts throughout the week. Hopefully it works. Enjoy the weekend John!

Thanks Grayson! I plan to get rid of my round ups at some point soon as well. I have a few ideas in my mind, but not certain which direction I want to take yet. Looking forward to seeing the new site. Have a good weekend yourself Grayson!
I can’t believe it’s already the middle of March! Time is passing too quickly. Hope you have a great weekend!

Sorry, you’re still getting hit with all the snow! It’s been unusually warm here, so we’re soaking it up while it lasts! Have a great weekend

Thanks for the mention, John. I really appreciate it!! I love the search terms that send people to your blog. And yes, it was the stock market that made dinosaurs go extinct. Financial advisors were supposed to keep it a secret, but apparently someone couldn’t keep a secret.
Enjoy your weekend and I hope you get those warm temps they’re predicting!
Shannon Ryan @ The Heavy Purse recently posted..Blog Roundup: Week of March 11, 2013
Not a problem Shannon! Leave it to some pesky financial advisor to let the cat out of the bag to the true reason behind extinction of the dinosaurs.
Sadly, I think the warm temps are only temporary…they’re calling for more snow and freezing rain Sunday night into Monday.
Have a great weekend!

Yep, more of it! I know, we need the moisture so desperately around here so we’ll take it anyway we can get it.
